(Walhalla, SC)———————————The 2016 Mayberry Open Golf Tournament, a fund raising golf tournament to benefit Crime Stoppers of Oconee County, Inc., is now just five weeks away.
“On behalf of the men and women of law enforcement in Oconee County as well as the Crime Stoppers organization here in Oconee County, we want to thank those individuals, businesses and organizations that have partnered with us so far in making this another successful tournament” says Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Jimmy Watt, who is the Sheriff’s Office Coordinator of Crime Stoppers. “However, there is still for you to participate if you would like to field a team, become a hole sponsor or donate a door prize but time is starting to close so we encourage you to get involved today.”
The 2016 Mayberry Open is scheduled for Thursday, May 5th at Oconee Country Club in Seneca. Registration will begin at 10:30am and the tournament will have a Noon shotgun start.
The field will consist of 25 4-man Captain’s Choice teams. The cost per player is $60 dollars or $240 dollars for a team.
Hole sponsorships are available for $100 each. Businesses, organizations and individuals can also contribute by donating door prizes for the golfers who participate.
There are also other exciting aspects of this year’s tournament as well, which includes:
• Lunch before the tournament supplied by Chick-fil-A of Seneca
• Supper after the tournament provided by Little Pigs BBQ of Seneca
• Goodie bags for golfer’s who participate
• Door prizes
• Mulligan’s – 2 for $5
• Longest Drive contest on the par-5 8th hole
• Closest to the pin on the par-3 16th hole
• The hole in one contest on the par-3 6th hole with $500 awarded to anyone who scores a hole-in-one

From there, you will receive a text back with a link to a mobile registration site. Once you click on that link, you will be taken to a website where you can register your teams as well as receive more information about the tournament. There is even a link at the top of the page for those who have a question concerning the tournament to text that question.
