Deputies Seek the Public’s Help in Locating Walhalla Man Who Removed His Ankle Monitor

(UPDATE: 30 year old Christopher Edward Burrell was taken into custody overnight and booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 1:31am on Thursday, February 29th).


(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------An Investigator with the Criminal Investigations Bureau of the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help today in locating a Walhalla man who has removed his ankle monitor after being released from jail on bond.

 

30 year old Christopher Edward Burrell was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on August 2nd, 2023.  During his time in jail, Burrell was served with 14 arrest warrants obtained by the Sheriff’s Office.  Before his release, Burrell’s total combined surety bond amount was $94,845.00.

 

According to the Investigator, Burrell was released last night on bond.  As a condition of bond, Burrell was required to wear an electronic monitoring device.

 

Late this morning, the Investigator was notified of a tamper alert in regards to Burrell’s ankle monitor.  The Investigator recovered the ankle monitor at Old House Road at S. Highway 11, which is south of the Walhalla and West Union area.
