OCSO Arrests Liberty Man on Outstanding Kidnapping and Domestic Violence Warrants

(Walhalla, SC)--------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Liberty man yesterday on outstanding arrest warrants for Kidnapping and Domestic Violence – High and Aggravated.
32 year old Chance Montgomery Parson, who has a listed address of Branchwood Drive, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 3:02pm by a deputy from the Warrants Division. At this time, Parson remains in custody on a combined $30,000 surety bond.
Deputies from the Uniform Patrol Division responded to an address on Pooles Hill Drive near Seneca during the afternoon hours of August 20th, 2020 in regards to reports of a domestic disturbance. Upon speaking with the victim, the victim told deputies that she was assaulted by Parson beginning late in the evening on August 19th and ending in the early afternoon of August 20th, when she was able to get away and call the Sheriff’s Office after not being allowed to leave or call for help.
At that time during the investigation, deputies could not locate Parson. Paramedics were called to the scene to evaluate the victim.
Based upon evidence that was gathered during the investigation, deputies obtained the arrest warrants against Parson. According to information contained in the arrest warrants, Parson threatened the victim with a gun and also took the victim’s cell phone and would not allow the victim to leave the residence to seek help.
