The goal of the Criminal Investigations Division of the Oconee County Sheriff's Office is to be the voice for the victims of crime and seek justice for them. CID works continuously to build partnerships with citizens and businesses of Oconee County as well as other law enforcement agencies (local, state and federal) in hopes to provide a safer environment for future generations.
Our mission is to treat victims with dignity and respect, provide support throughout the criminal justice proceedings, and help provide resources and education for those who have experience grief, domestic violence or a loss of a loved one. Our hope for those we serve is for them to lead a more independent and fulfilling life.
School Safety.
The responsibility of the Sex Offender Registrar is to maintain the information on the Sex Offender Registry for Oconee County. The duties include in person registrations, address verifications, maintaining files, updating the computer systems used for storing their information, fingerprints and palm prints, pictures, signing warrants for those out of compliance and court. A NCIC Certification is also required, along with communicating with other departments in SC and other states when sex offenders move jurisdictions.
