Ride To Work Ministry
While we are not affiliated with any specific church, we work with several local churches for support of clients. An all-volunteer Board of Directors oversees the operations and all work is done by volunteers.
Applicants apply on-line at rtwministry.org and must have a job/about to get one, legitimately have no other means of transportation, have a talk/text phone, and have a “success plan” for finding their own transportation as soon as possible.
Our volunteers meet and interview them to make sure they are ‘job ready’, arrange for the rides, and coach them on their success plan throughout the process. We provide low cost rides ($5 to $10 per day – depending on distance – for up to a few months) to give the rider time to find another ride or save money for their own transportation. Riders must be committed to achieving self-sufficiency. Along with the application and interview process we have found the rider’s willingness to pay a small amount for the ride is evidence that they have ‘skin in the game’.

The Hub Ministries is a faith-based organization offering a variety of services, including transitional housing and assistance getting people "back on their feet."
While housing is an emerging crisis in our community, providing housing alone does not set people up for success and does not “fix” the problem. Our transitional housing sector is more than providing a place to live – it is a transformational program where the participants are required to attend and adhere to different educational programs and classes. It’s more than simply providing a temporary housing arrangement; it’s about equipping individuals and empowering them to change their own lives.

The Hub Ministries
The Hub Ministries is a faith-based organization offering a variety of services, including transitional housing and assistance getting people "back on their feet."
While housing is an emerging crisis in our community, providing housing alone does not set people up for success and does not “fix” the problem. Our transitional housing sector is more than providing a place to live – it is a transformational program where the participants are required to attend and adhere to different educational programs and classes. It’s more than simply providing a temporary housing arrangement; it’s about equipping individuals and empowering them to change their own lives.

Our SC Works centers across the state have staff, many of whom are veterans or service members themselves, who are specifically trained to assist military jobseekers find civilian employment. Disabled Veterans Outreach Program (DVOP) representatives provide intensive case management services to targeted veterans with emphasis in meeting the employment needs of veterans who are economically or educationally disadvantaged.
Veterans not only receive priority service in our SC Works Centers, but also through SC Works Online Services (SCWOS). For the first 24 hours that a job is listed on SCWOS, only jobseekers that have identified themselves as a member of the military community can view and apply for the position.

Disabled American Veterans (DAV)
DAV is dedicated to a single purpose: empowering veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity. We accomplish this by ensuring that veterans and their families can access the full range of benefits available to them; fighting for the interests of America’s injured heroes on Capitol Hill; and educating the public about the great sacrifices and needs of veterans transitioning back to civilian life.
This mission is carried forward by:
-
Providing free, professional assistance to veterans and their families in obtaining benefits and services earned through military service and provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and other agencies of government.
-
Providing outreach concerning its program services to the American people generally, and to disabled veterans and their families specifically.
-
Representing the interests of disabled veterans, their families, their widowed spouses and their orphans before Congress, the White House and the Judicial Branch, as well as state and local government.
-
Extending DAV’s mission of hope into the communities where these veterans and their families live through a network of state-level Departments and local Chapters.
-
Providing a structure through which disabled veterans can express their compassion for their fellow veterans through a variety of volunteer programs.

We exist to provide our neighborhood with the hope of Jesus Christ. We do this by providing a safe space for our teens to be themselves and learn about the message of hope in the Gospel.
