Cook Team
What better way to bring people together is there than sharing a meal together! The Oconee County Sheriff's Office, with the support of the Oconee Sheriff's Foundation, has a "Cook Team" which goes into the community and prepares meals throughout the year.
The Cook Team is a group of deputies who also love to cook and share their time with the citizens of our county. Operating a mobile kitchen, the Cook Team travels throughout the county and prepares a hot, FREE meal to members of the community. Funding is provided by the generous donations of businesses and individuals through the Sheriff's Foundation.
Each Community Cook Event typically serves 200 - 300 people. We have visited many corners of the county and are continuing to expand our efforts in 2026! Keep a watchful eye on our Social Media pages for upcoming community cook events. We hope to see you at our next event!

Fostering Faithfully
Fostering Faithfully is a local, faith-based non-profit organization that encourages and equips foster families and the children they love. Nationally, half of all foster families quit within a year after their first placement. They must have support to thrive!
Emotionally and economically we connect foster children and the families who love them to the community that cares for them by connecting loving volunteers and donors through a tangible support network providing the resources that foster families and their children that they need to be successful and thrive.
Greg's Groceries (Serve and Connect)
Founded in 2017 to honor fallen police officer Greg Alia, Greg’s Groceries has provided thousands of boxes of non-perishable food to individuals and families in need. The overall goal of Greg’s Groceries is to provide a resource to police that may not otherwise be available. Greg’s Groceries boxes are intended to create opportunities for positive, non-enforcement interactions between police officers and community members while fostering an environment that enhances trust. When we strengthen community policing, we also enhance community empowerment. A box of Greg’s Groceries helps in this mission.
The Oconee County Sheriff's Office, in partnership with Greg's Groceries (Serve and Connect), is proud to be able to offer this wonderful resource as boxes are available. If you or someone you know is in need, contact the Community Services / Outreach Unit at outreach@oconeelaw.com
Project Lifesaver International
Through a generous donation by the Pilot Club of Seneca, we are proud to offer Project Lifesaver to our community. Project Lifesaver is the premier search-and-rescue program operated internationally by public-safety agencies and is strategically designed for “at-risk” individuals who are prone to the life-threatening behavior of wandering or eloping due to autism, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia or other cognitive conditions. The primary mission of Project Lifesaver is to provide timely response to save lives and reduce potential injury for adults and children with the propensity to wander due to a cognitive condition.
The Project Lifesaver Program at OCSO is managed by the Victim Advocate Unit. If you or someone you love would like more information about Project Lifesaver, contact us at outreach@oconeelaw.com. To learn more about Project Lifesaver, click the logo on the left.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace
Sleep in Heavenly Peace had its start like many other charities, in a garage. It was Christmas time, a time of joy and happiness, a time of giving and love, but also a time of bitter, cold weather and snowstorms. A project, that was started with the build of one bed for a single family developed into something a whole lot more. The wood left over from the first bunk, another idea was created. “Who else could benefit from this bunk”?
SHP is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Our federal ID is 46-4346568 in the United States.
Our local chapter is based out of Westminster. If you would like to get involved with SHP, or offer financial support, click the logo to learn more!
Safe Harbor
Safe Harbor provides pathways for people impacted by domestic abuse to survive and thrive and raises awareness of domestic abuse through community engagement and education.
Individuals and families impacted by domestic abuse have inherently been exposed to traumatic events in their lives. Safe Harbor is committed to providing programs and services that are designed with an understanding of the impact of trauma on individuals and families, as well as a recognition of a survivor’s resiliency and ability to heal. We use a trauma-informed approach to services and community work that aims to support and empower survivors, to respect and honor each individual’s experience and to avoid re-traumatization.
If you are interested in seeking emergency shelter or just want to ask questions and learn more about what Safe Harbor does, please call their 24/7 line at: 800-291-2139 (press “1” to speak with someone.)

This event exemplifies the Sheriff's Office's vision of "Forging Relationships" as it allows public safety professionals to bond with children in our community and bring them a Christmas miracle that they may not have otherwise gotten.
The Oconee County Sheriff's Office is a proud partner of Shop With a Hero, honored to be a part of this wonderful outreach program each and every year!
