(Walhalla, SC)--------------------------------------Deputies from the Uniform Patrol Division, conducting a warrant service late yesterday evening near Westminster, arrested a Seneca man on multiple outstanding arrest warrants.

Back on September 15th of this year, the Sheriff’s Office issued a news release asking for the public’s help in locating 41 year old Evan Michael Hood, who was wanted on charges of Carjacking and Grand Larceny. The charges against Hood stemmed from an incident back in November of 2020.

According to arrest warrants obtained by a Sheriff’s Office investigator, Hood was involved in an incident on Knollwood Drive near Mountain View Drive near Seneca in which Hood took a 1996 Honda Accord from the victim at gunpoint.

Besides the vehicle, Hood is also accused of taking the contents that were located inside of the vehicle, including two cell phones. The vehicle was later recovered by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office on December 9th of last year.

Hood was located on Edna Drive and placed under arrest on scene at around 12:23am this morning. Hood was transported to the Oconee County Detention Center and booked into the jail at around 5:12am today.

Hood was also served with six arrest warrants from the Seneca Police Department as well as a General Sessions Bench Warrant and a warrant from the Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services.

At this time, Hood remains in custody at the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office. Hood was given a combined $55,000 surety bond on the Sheriff’s Office warrants and a combined $2,274.00 personal recognizance bond on the six charges from the Seneca Police Department. A hold has also been placed on Hood by Horry County.
