(Walhalla, SC)--------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Westminster woman yesterday on outstanding warrants, including a charge of Trafficking in Methamphetamine.

34 year old Brandy Diane Wright of Longcreek Highway was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 4:30pm. Besides the drug trafficking charge, Wright was also served outstanding arrest warrants on charges of Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a Controlled Substance (LSD) and Possession with Intent to Distribute Heroin. Wright was also served with three outstanding General Session Bench Warrants.

Wright was taken into custody by Investigators from the Criminal Investigations Division at a business on Westminster Highway in Westminster yesterday. At this time, Wright remains in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center on a combined $80,615.00 surety bond.

The drug charges against Wright stem from a traffic stop, for a traffic violation, on July 19th, 2018 on W. Branch Avenue near Broadway Street in the Newry Community. Wright was the passenger in a black Ford Sedan that was driven by 27 year old Chad James Dimitroff of Westminster.

Deputies received consent from Dimitroff to search the vehicle. The search produced a quantity of Methamphetamine inside of the vehicle, approximately 196 grams, according to arrest warrants. Narcotics Agents were notified to continue the investigation.

The items seized by deputies were collected for testing by a certified analyst. Also, evidence obtained at that time indicated that the narcotics seized had possible ties to a larger, ongoing, narcotics conspiracy investigation being conducted by Narcotics Agents from the Sheriff’s Office.

Based upon the evidence from the investigation, arrest warrants were obtained against Dimitroff and Wright on July 27th, 2018.

Dimitroff was arrested by the Sheriff’s Office on March 23rd of this year after Dimitroff was transported from Marion County, TN to Oconee County. Dimitroff was given a combined $108,500 surety bond and was released from the Oconee County Detention Center on April 6th of this year after posting bond.
