Crimestoppers of Oconee County, Inc. Announces New Website Address and New Phone Number for Tips and Information



(Walhalla, SC)———————————Crimestoppers of Oconee County, Inc.  is announcing today a new website address and a new telephone number that will allow for easier access for those who are anonymously submitting tips and seeking further information.


www.71crime.com is the new official website for Crimestoppers of Oconee County, Inc.  For those who would like to submit a tip by phone, tipsters can now call 1-844-71-CRIME (27463).  Also, anyone who would like to submit a tip by text can still download the free P3 app on their mobile device.


“We are always looking for ways to allow easier access for those who would like to submit tips and seek information about Crimestoppers of Oconee County, Inc.,” says Helen Westmoreland, Coordinator of Oconee County Crimestoppers.  “The updates and changes we have made will not only make it easier for those who want to find Oconee County Crimestoppers but the changes will also enable us to get critical tip information about crimes and cases to Oconee County law enforcement agencies faster, which will help in missing person and wanted fugitive cases, for example.”


Also, Crimestoppers of Oconee County is excited to announce that a “Wanted Wednesday” video segment will be featured on the Crimestoppers Facebook page each Wednesday.  The video segment will feature a combination of those who Oconee County law enforcement isseeking that have outstanding arrest and/or bench warrants or unidentified persons who agencies are seeking the identities of as persons of interest in relation to crimes that have occurred. 


“The videos are being produced in cooperation with Crimestoppers of Oconee County and all law enforcement agencies that are operating inside of Oconee County,” according to Coordinator Westmoreland.  “The videos will be uploaded and available every Wednesday on the Oconee County Crimestoppers Facebook page.  In this way, we are taking advantage of available technology in order to help locate wanted fugitives quicker and to identify persons of interest in order to solve crimes faster for greater accountability for those who commit them.”
