OCSO Arrests Seneca Man and Anderson County Woman on Trafficking in Methamphetamine Charge

(Walhalla, SC)--------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Seneca man and an Anderson County woman yesterday on Trafficking in Methamphetamine charge.


48 year old Steve Allen Broach and 49 year old Patricia Linda Alexander were booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 3:29pm and 4:08pm respectively on Tuesday. Alexander has listed addresses in Iva and in Starr. Broach’s listed address is Padgett Street.


Deputies from the Criminal Investigations Division and the Uniform Patrol Division responded to Padgett Street, on the Utica Mill Hill, after receiving word that Broach may be located there. After locating Broach, deputies placed him under arrest on multiple outstanding General Session Bench Warrants.


Deputies also observed a gold Toyota Tacoma that belonged to Alexander, whom Broach said had provided him a ride to Padgett Street. Deputies made contact with Alexander, who was sitting in the driver’s seat. Deputies detected an odor of marijuana emanating from the truck.


A search of the vehicle by deputies produced a quantity of Methamphetamine inside. Alexander was also placed under arrest.


Based upon the evidence gathered, arrest warrants were obtained charging both suspects with Trafficking in Methamphetamine. According to deputies, approximately 47.66 grams of Methamphetamine were seized.


At this time, both subjects remain in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center as both received a $20,000 surety bond on the drug charge.


Broach had seven outstanding General Sessions Bench Warrants to include drug charges as well as charges of Obstruction of Justice and Accessory after the Fact of a Felony.
