Back on December 7th, 2023, the Sheriff’s Office announced that an Oconee County business had donated a golf cart to the Oconee County (SC) Sheriff’s Office Foundation for a fundraiser to benefit Corporal Watts and his family.

Boone’s Buggies in Fair Play donated a refurbished 2014 EZGO RXV Golf Cart that is 48 Volt AC (with a battery charger included).  The Golf Cart also had a suspension lift, 14” wheels, 23 “ tires, custom black and thin blue line seats, a folding rear seat and an extended roof.

The total value of the golf cart is approximately $9,500.00.  Diamond T Promotional Gear in Fair Play also donated a custom graphic decal package up to $500.00.

“We are very grateful for the continued prayers and support that the Watts family has and continues to receive,” says Oconee County Sheriff Mike Crenshaw.  “I am not sure if there are truly words that accurately describe what the prayers and support have meant to Lucas and his family and all of us at the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office.   We are so thankful for all the fundraisers that have taken place so far and individuals and businesses continue to reach out wanting to support the family in some way.  Please continue to pray for Lucas, Haley, their little boy and their family as Lucas continues to recover from the injuries he sustained on November 16th.”

The Sheriff’s Office has also announced that another business, Groundscapes of Oconee, has donated a custom fire pit with an included patio seating area and sitting wall, along with two Adirondack style chairs to the Sheriff’s Office Foundation to raise funds to benefit Lucas and his family.

Materials for the project have been donated by Boulevard Landscape Supplies of Pendleton, SC and SiteOne Landscape Supply of Hendersonville, NC.  The value of the fire pit, patio and chairs, fully installed, is valued at approximately $9,000.00.

Tickets for the fire pit package fundraiser are $20.00.  Tickets are available for purchase at the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office during normal business hours, Monday – Friday.  The drawing for the firepit package will be February 29th.
