Early Morning Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Two Persons on Drug Trafficking Charges

(Walhalla, SC)-----------------------------------An early Tuesday morning traffic stop by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has led to the arrest of two persons on multiple charges, which include charges of Drug Trafficking.

 

22 year old Cayden Dean John Komer and 37 year old Lisa Michelle White, both of Westminster, were booked into the Oconee County Detention Center today at around 4:45am and 4:52am respectively.  Both Komer and White remain in jail, at this time, pending a bond hearing.

 

Both Komer and White have been charged with one count each of Trafficking in Methamphetamine and Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime.  Komer was also charged with one count of Driving under Suspension.  A hold has been placed on White by the Williamston Police Department.

 

A Deputy from the Uniform Patrol Bureau, on routine patrol in the southern part of Oconee County, conducted a traffic stop on a red Mazda pickup early this morning on Mt. Pleasant Road due to a traffic violation.  The Deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Komer, and the passenger, identified as White.

 

The Deputy received information that Komer’s driver’s license was suspended.  The Deputy also learned that White had a reported outstanding Family Court Bench Warrant in Anderson County.  The Deputy received information that White’s license was suspended as well.    

 

A second Sheriff’s Office Uniform Patrol Deputy arrived on scene to assist.  Also, a K-9 handler, along with a K-9 officer, from the Walhalla Police Department arrived on scene at the request of the Deputy who initiated the traffic stop. 

 

During the course of the investigation, the K-9 officer gave an alert on the vehicle and a probable cause search was conducted.  The search produced a quantity of Methamphetamine.  A 9mm semi-automatic handgun was also located during the search.

 

Both Komer and White were placed under arrest and transported to jail.  According to arrest warrants, approximately 13.7 grams of Methamphetamine were seized during the investigation, as well as the handgun.

 

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
