Investigators Seek the Public’s Help in Locating Attempted Murder Suspect

Eric Raymond Lavoie

(UPDATE:  Eric Raymond Lavoie, who was the subject of a Wanted Subject news release earlier today, has been taken into custody this afternoon and has been transported to the Oconee County Detention Center.  We thank our citizens and media partners for your help in our search for Lavoie.)


(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------Investigators from the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office are seeking the public’s help today in locating a suspect wanted on a charge of Attempted Murder.

 

51 year old Eric Raymond Lavoie, of Misty Hollow Lane, is also wanted on a charge of Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime. 

 

Lavoie was charged after an incident over the weekend in which an adult male was stabbed multiple times by Lavoie with a knife at the Misty Hollow Lane address.  According to information obtained during the course of the investigation, Lavoie and his wife had an argument.  During the course of the argument, Lavoie pulled a knife on his wife. 

 

The adult male, who is the victim of the crime, intervened and was stabbed by Lavoie with the knife.  Lavoie left the scene before Deputies arrived.  The victim was taken to another location and was later transported to the hospital by a medical helicopter. 

 

The investigation was turned over the Criminal Investigators Bureau.  Based on evidence that was gathered during the investigation, arrest warrants were obtained against Lavoie.

 

Lavoie is 5’6” tall and weighs around 150 pounds.  Lavoie has brown hair and brown eyes.  According to Investigators, Lavoie’s head has recently been shaved bald and there are round scars on his scalp.  According to an arrest warrant, Lavoie has been convicted previously of a violent crime.

 

Due to the nature of the crime, and for safety and health privacy reasons, the victim’s name will not be released by the Sheriff’s Office.
