As cold weather pushes into the local area, there is a great need for warm coats for many of our youngsters. On November 17, Knights from local Council 6884 met with Oconee County Sheriff, Mike Crenshaw, to deliver boxes of “Coats for Kids” that will be handed out by Sheriff’s Deputies as they patrol communities in the county. This partnership gives officers the capability for community outreach as they distribute the needed warmer outerwear to local children. The Knights are happy to provide the coats that are purchased with money obtained in several of their fund-raising activities. Earlier this month, a similar delivery was made to JoAnn Brink of Family Promise of Pickens County , so they could also distribute the Coats in the local area.
