(Walhalla, SC)--------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is announcing today the schedule of local events in celebration of the 2025 National Faith and Blue Weekend.
This year, National Faith and Blue Weekend is scheduled from Friday, October 10th thru Sunday, October 12th.
“The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has been honored to be a part of the Faith and Blue Initiative since its inception back in 2020,” says Oconee County Sheriff Mike Crenshaw. “The Faith and Blue initiative fits strategically in with our vision statement of “Forging Relationships to Build a Safer Oconee.” The Sheriff’s Office is a believer in, and a practitioner of, ‘Community Policing.’ The goal of Faith and Blue Weekend is to build bridges between law enforcement and the citizens and communities they serve, with the help of our Churches and houses of worship. Faith and Blue Weekend is a great example of the true definition of ‘Community Policing.’”
Below is the schedule of local events for the Oconee County celebration of the 2025 National Faith and Blue Weekend:
On Friday, October 10th, the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office will be holding our third annual “Faith and Blue Cops & Clergy Luncheon” from 12Noon until 2pm. The luncheon will be hosted again this year by former 3rd District U.S. Congressman Gresham Barrett on his home property in Oconee County. The Luncheon is open only to Pastors and Associate Pastors of churches and houses of worship here in Oconee County and to all Law Enforcement Officers who serve in Oconee County. The Luncheon is not open to the public. The Registration Deadline for the “Faith and Blue Clergy Luncheon” is Friday, October 3rd. To RSVP, please call the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office at 864-638-4117.

As in previous years, the Sheriff’s Office is also asking the Pastors and their congregations at worship services held during National Faith and Blue Weekend to
recognize law enforcement and public service officers in attendance and to set aside a time during their services to pray for law enforcement and public safety officers and our communities. Also, if any law enforcement or public safety officers would like to address their respective Churches and houses of worship during those services; the Sheriff’s Office encourages those Churches and houses of worship to allow them to do so.
