Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Announces Additional Arrest in 2026 Drug Round-Up

(Walhalla, SC)---------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is announcing today an additional arrest in a 2026 drug round-up.
The Sheriff’s Office obtained 32 arrest warrants on 18 persons. The arrest warrants were obtained based on controlled purchases of narcotics by undercover operatives working at the direction of the Sheriff’s Office. The narcotics purchased during the controlled buys were Fentanyl, Methamphetamine and Prescription Medication.
As of 11am today, 15 persons have been arrested so far or were already in jail at the Oconee County Detention Center and have been served their arrest warrants in direct relation to the drug round-up. Here is the name of the additional person arrested:
Jason Dewayne Petty
45 years old
Hall Road/Longcreek Highway, Westminster, SC
Distribution of Methamphetamine – 3 counts
Petty was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 3:11pm on Wednesday, June 10th, 2026. Petty was arrested by Investigators assigned to the Criminal Investigations Bureau and Deputies assigned to the Warrants Bureau as a result of a Warrant Service at an address on Longcreek Highway. Petty was given a combined $75,000 surety bond on the three drug distribution warrants. Petty was also served with a Family Court Bench Warrant and a Magistrates Bench Warrant. Petty will also be required to wear an electronic monitoring device, as a condition of bond, should he be released from jail.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is also seeking the public’s help in locating the remainder of those who are wanted in our ongoing round-up. Distribution of Methamphetamine – 1 count
Cory Cordarell Gaines
33 years old
Kirk Lane, Pendleton, SC
Distribution of Fentanyl – 1 count
