Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Announces Additional Arrests in Current Drug Round-Up

(Walhalla, SC)---------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is announcing today additional arrests in the current drug round-up. The Sheriff’s Office began the operation Thursday morning, April 9th.
The Sheriff’s Office obtained 31 arrest warrants on 18 persons. The arrest warrants were obtained based on controlled purchases of narcotics by undercover operatives working at the direction of the Sheriff’s Office. The narcotics purchased during the controlled buys were Fentanyl, Methamphetamine and Prescription Medication.
As of 11am today, fourteen persons have been arrested so far or were already in jail at the Oconee County Detention Center and have been served their arrest warrants in direct relation to the drug round-up. Here are the names of the additional persons arrested:
Daniel Raye Denney
54 years old
S. Cedar Street, Walhalla, SC/Goddard Avenue, Seneca, SC
Distribution of Methamphetamine – 1 count
Denney was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 2:37pm on Tuesday, April 21st, 2026. At this time, Denney remains in jail on a $10,000 surety bond.
John Francis Roberts, II
48 years old
Edna Drive, Westminster, SC/Minnie McCall Road, Walhalla, SC
Distribution of Methamphetamine – 1 count
Roberts, II was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 9:49pm on Tuesday, April 21st, 2026. At this time, Roberts, II remains in jail on a $25,000 surety bond.
Ian Kelly Romano
45 years old
Mountain View Drive, Seneca, SC
Distribution of Methamphetamine – 1 count
Romano was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 10:08am on Wednesday, April 22nd, 2026. At this time, Romano remains in jail pending a bond hearing.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is also seeking the public’s help in locating the remainder of those who are wanted in our ongoing round-up. Kirk Lane, Pendleton, SC
Distribution of Fentanyl – 1 count
Jason Dewayne Petty
45 years old
Longcreek Highway, Westminster, SC
Distribution of Methamphetamine – 2 counts
