Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Announces Additional Arrests in Second Drug Round-Up of 2022

(Walhalla, SC)---------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is announcing today additional arrests in the second drug round-up of 2022.


The Sheriff’s Office began the operation on Thursday, September 1st with a meeting and briefing at 9:00am at the Law Enforcement Center in Walhalla.


The Sheriff’s Office obtained arrest warrants on 20 subjects. The arrest warrants were obtained based on controlled purchases of narcotics by undercover operatives working at the direction of the Sheriff’s Office. Among the narcotics purchased during the controlled buys by undercover operatives were Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, Heroin, LSD, and Ecstasy.


As of 11am today, twelve individuals had been arrested so far and/or were already in jail and will or have been served their warrants. Here are the names of additional suspects arrested and their charges according to warrants:


· David Wayne Howard

40 years old

Westminster, SC

Trafficking in Methamphetamine – 1 count

Howard was arrested on October 3rd at an address on Brock Road near Westminster

by Investigators from the Criminal Investigations Bureau. Howard also had an outstanding arrest warrant from the Westminster Police Department on a charge of Petit Larceny. Sheriff’s Office investigators have charge with one count of Receiving Stolen Goods related to a separate investigation.

At this time, Howard remains in jail on a $100,000 surety bond on the Trafficking in Methamphetamine charge and a $10,000 surety bond on the Petit Larceny charge from

the Westminster Police Department. Bond has yet to be set on the Receiving Stolen Goods charge.


· Joshua James Witherington

42 years old

Seneca, SC

Distribution of Methamphetamine – 1 count

Witherington was arrested on September 24th and booked into the Oconee County Detention Center. Witherington was given a $50,000 surety bond and was released on September 24th after posting bond.


The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating the remainder of those who are wanted in our ongoing round-up. 36 years old

· Teresa Lynn Worley

54 years old

Walhalla, SC

Distribution of Methamphetamine – 1 count


· Christina Ann Henson

37 years old

Seneca, SC

Distribution of Methamphetamine – 1 count


· William David Gunn

37 years old

Walhalla, SC

Distribution of Heroin – 1 count


· James Earl Webb

26 years old

Westminster, SC

Distribution of Methamphetamine – 1 count

· Shasta Denard Richardson

40 years old

Seneca, SC
