(Walhalla, SC)---------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is announcing two additional arrests today in the first drug round-up of 2022.
The Sheriff’s Office began the operation last Thursday morning with a meeting and briefing at 9:00am at the Law Enforcement Center in Walhalla.
At the beginning of the drug sweep late last week, the Sheriff’s Office announced that they were seeking 33 suspects, with arrest warrants, based on controlled purchases of narcotics by undercover operatives working at the direction of the Sheriff’s Office. Among the narcotics purchased during the controlled buys by undercover operatives were Marijuana, Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, Heroin and prescription medication.
As of 10am this morning, 21 individuals had been arrested so far and/or were already in jail and will or have been served their warrants. Here are the name of the latest arrestees and their charges according to arrest warrants:
1)Gary Lee Coble
61 years old
Mountain Rest, SC
Distribution of Methamphetamine – 1 count
Coble was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 10:06am on Wednesday
March 9th
At this time, Coble remains in custody on a $10,000 surety bond
2)Lindsay Brooke Wood
29 years old
Westminster, SC
Distribution of Methamphetamine – 2 counts
Distribution of Heroin – 1 count
Wood was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 11:28am on Wednesday, March 9th
At this time, Wood remains in custody on a combined $35,000 surety bond
