(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------An Easley man remains in jail today, on a combined $110,000 surety bond, after being booked into jail yesterday on two outstanding arrest warrants in relation to a 2024 burglary and larceny investigation.
38 year old Brandon Scott Creel, of Polly Drive, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 8:32pm Tuesday. Creel was transported from the Kirkland Correctional Institution in Columbia and served with arrest warrants on charges of First Degree Burglary and Petit Larceny.
A hold has been placed on Creel by the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office. Creel will be required to wear an electronic monitoring device, as a condition of bond, should he be released from jail.
Creel is the second person charged and arrested in this investigation. Back on June 5th, 2024, the Sheriff’s Office issued a release announcing that then 26 year old Michael Anthony McCrary, of Bivens Street in Pickens, was arrested on June 4th of last year. McCrary was transported from the Anderson County Detention Center to Oconee County and was served with arrest warrants charging him with First Degree Burglary and Petit Larceny in relation to the same investigation.
The Sheriff’s Office investigation began during the early morning hours of February 13th, 2024 after a Deputy from the Uniform Patrol Bureau responded to an address on Landon Drive near Seneca in regards to a reported burglary.
The Deputy met with the homeowners to continue the investigation. The Deputy obtained evidence that entry had been made into the residence. The homeowners also discovered items missing from the home and that the house had been rummaged through.
The investigation was turned to over to an Investigator from the Property Crimes Unit of the Criminal Investigations Bureau.
Based upon evidence that was obtained during the investigation, it was determined that Creel and McCrary had broken into residence, during nighttime hours, without the consent of the homeowners and with the intent to commit a crime. According to an arrest warrant, McCrary stole a watch and a guitar from the residence.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
