Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Fair Play Woman on First Degree Burglary Charge

(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Fair Play woman over the weekend on charges in relation to an ongoing burglary investigation conducted by the Criminal Investigations Bureau.
40 year old Allison Danell Barrineau, of N. Davis Drive, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 1:05am Sunday.
Barrineau was served outstanding arrest warrants on charges of First Degree Burglary, Grand Larceny and Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime. The arrest warrants were obtained after an investigation into a burglary that was reported to the Sheriff’s Office on June 3rd of this year, which occurred at an address on Longcreek Highway near Butts Drive.
Barrineau was also served with an outstanding Magistrates Bench Warrant.
Barrineau was taken into custody late Saturday evening near Mountain Rest after a traffic stop on Highway 107 near Fish Hatchery Road. Barrineau was a passenger in the vehicle. Barrineau provided a false name to Deputies during the course of the traffic stop.
Deputies from the Warrants Unit arrived on scene and positively identified Barrineau. Barrineau was arrested, transported to jail and subsequently charged by the Sheriff’s Office with Giving False Information to Law Enforcement.
Also arrested during the traffic stop was 69 year old Allen Dean McElroy, also of N. Davis Drive. McElroy was charged with one count of Obstructing Justice as McElroy knew that Barrineau had outstanding arrest warrants and was in the same vehicle with her during the traffic stop.
In reference to the burglary investigation, Barrineau is one of four suspects charged as part of the investigation. According to her arrest warrants, Barrineau broke into the dwelling home of the victims during the spring of this year, without consent, and stole multiple firearms.
Also arrested on September 3rd as a result of the burglary investigation was 35 year old Catherine Arizona Chasteen, of Little Choesteoa Road near Westminster, on a charge of Breach of Trust with Fraudulent Intent. According to an arrest warrant, Chasteen received in trust a cell phone, a handgun and a car port, which belonged to the victim, and then appropriated the property to her own use with the intent to defraud the victim.
Arrested as well on a Breach of Trust with Fraudulent Intent charge on June 22nd was 38 year old Aaron Jacob Chasteen, also of the Little Choesteoa Road address near Westminster. Aaron Chasteen is accused, according to an arrest warrant, of receiving in trust a propane tank, which belonged to the victim, and then appropriated the propane tank to his own use with the fraudulent intent to deprive the owner.
Finally, 61 year old Johnny Albert Roach, of Brandywine Meir Lane in Longcreek, was served arrest warrants in jail on charges of First Degree Burglary, Grand Larceny and Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime in reference to breaking into the residence of the victims, without consent, and stealing multiple firearms
Roach was arrested in a separate investigation on May 22nd of this year on a charge of Trafficking in Methamphetamine as the result of a traffic stop. Roach was served his arrest warrant for his part in the burglary on August 26th.
Bond amounts for those arrested or charged are as follows:
· Allison Danell Barrineau – Remains in jail, at this time, on a combined $85,000 surety bond on the property crime charges and received a $440.00 personal recognizance bond on the Giving False Information charge.
· Allen Dean McElroy – Released from jail on September 7th on a $5,000 personal recognizance bond.
· Catherine Arizona Chasteen – Remain in jail, at this time, on a $10,000 surety bond.
· Aaron Jacob Chasteen – Released from jail on June 23rd on a $2,125.00 personal recognizance bond.
· Johnny Albert Roach – Remains in jail, at this time, on a combined $160,000 surety bond on all charges.
