Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Greenville Man on Multiple Charges Related to Vehicle Break-In’s

(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------A Greenville County man is out of jail on bond today after his arrest this week on multiple charges in an ongoing investigation related to a recent series of vehicle break-in’s at some recreation areas in Oconee County. 

 

47 year old Travis Lamont Boyd, of Daisy Drive, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 2:40am Thursday.  Boyd has been charged with three counts of Breaking into a Motor Vehicle, two counts of Petit Larceny and one count each of Malicious Injury to Property and Grand Larceny.

 

Deputies from the Uniform Patrol Bureau were dispatched to reports of three separate vehicle break-in’s that occurred on August 30th of this year.

 

One of the break-in’s occurred on Shallow Ford Road, which is the location of Fall Creek Landing #1 near Salem.  During that crime, Boyd was charged with breaking into the back passenger-side window of a 2016 Toyota Corolla and stealing a Louis Vuitton bag. 

 

During the second break-in, which occurred on Fish Hatchery Road in Mountain Rest, Boyd is accused of breaking into a 2018 Toyota CH-R and stealing a Coach purse, cash, a ring and electronic items, according to arrest warrants. 

 

In the third break-in, arrest warrants state that Boyd broke into a 2022 Hyundai Sante Fe at the Highway 28 River Access in Mountain Rest and took a Kate Spade Purse, cash, bank cards and prescription glasses.

 

Boyd was given a combined $105,000 surety bond and was released from jail, after posting bond, on an ankle monitor as a condition of bond. 

 

The arrest warrants were obtained by a Property Crimes Investigator from the Criminal Investigations Bureau of the Sheriff’s Office.  Investigators remind you to never leave your vehicle unlocked and to always place valuable items in the trunk of your vehicle and never leave any valuable items in plain view.
