Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Mississippi Woman on Drug Trafficking Charge

(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------A Mississippi woman remains in jail today, on a combined $50,000 surety bond, after her arrest early this morning on a drug trafficking charge as the result of a traffic stop.

 

56 year old Trina Anissa Surnell Gholar, of Golden Pine Drive in Prentiss, MS, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 5:49am today.  Arrest warrants have been obtained against Gholar on charges of Trafficking in MDMA, Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Hydrocodone). 

 

Also arrested and charged during the traffic stop was 46 year old Anthony Jerome Ferguson, of North Hill Drive in Hattiesburg, MS, on a charge of Driving without a License.  Ferguson was booked into jail at around 5:40am today. 

 

A Deputy from the Uniform Patrol Bureau, on routine patrol in the southern part of Oconee County, initiated a traffic stop on a black Jeep SUV for a traffic violation on S. Highway 11 and Greer Road in the South Union Community. 

 

The Deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Ferguson, and the passenger, identified as Gholar.  Ferguson told the Deputy that his driver’s license was suspended. 

 

A search of the vehicle produced a quantity of MDMA and Hydrocodone, along with a handgun.  Gholar claimed possession of the narcotics and the handgun. 

 

Both Gholar and Ferguson was arrested and transported to the Oconee County Detention Center.

 

Ferguson was given a $232.50 surety bond on his charge and was released from jail this afternoon after posting bond.   

 

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigations.
