Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Mountain Rest Man on Drug Trafficking and Weapon Charges

(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Mountain Rest man today on outstanding drug trafficking and weapon charges.
41 year old John Arcuri, Jr., of Trillium Drive, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 11:50am this morning. Arcuri, Jr. was arrested during a warrant service today on Goddard Avenue at Humbert Street, which is on the Utica Mill Hill, near Seneca.
Arcuri, Jr. was arrested on outstanding arrest warrants on charges of Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon after having been Convicted of Domestic Violence.
The arrest warrants were obtained due to an April 8th investigation that stemmed from an Environmental Services call in regards to littering and trespassing on E. James Street near Goddard Avenue on the Utica Mill Hill. Deputies made contact with three people, two males and one female, at a small brick structure on the property. One of the males on scene was identified as Arcuri, Jr.
Deputies received permission from the property owner to search the property and confirmed that no one was supposed to be on the property. A quantity of narcotics and a firearm were seized from the scene. All the persons on scene were issued a courtesy summons on a charge of trespassing, as the Sheriff’s Office continued the ongoing investigation.
Based upon evidence obtained during the investigation, and after presenting evidence to a Magistrate Judge, arrest warrants were obtained against Arcuri, Jr by a Deputy from the Pro-Active Criminal Enforcement (P.A.C.E.) team. Approximately 11.15 grams of Methamphetamine was seized along with a 9mm handgun on April 8th.
An additional charge of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon after having been Convicted of Domestic Violence was obtained against Arcuri, Jr. today after his arrest due to Arcuri, Jr. having a .380 handgun on his person that was discovered by the Deputy from the Warrants Unit.
