Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Oconee Man and Woman on Drug Charges during Traffic Stop

(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested an Oconee man and woman Sunday evening as a result of a traffic stop that occurred between Westminster and Oakway.

 

The names of the persons arrested, and their charges, are:

 

· 42 year old Heath Allan Bates, who has listed addresses of Hancock Lane in Westminster and Westminster Highway in Walhalla.  Bates has been charged with Possession of Fentanyl and with Driving under Suspension.  Bates was booked in the Oconee County Detention Center at around 10:22pm Sunday. 

· 36 year old Celeste Marie Lillian Edward Crowe, of Rainbows End Drive in Walhalla.

Crowe was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 10:37pm Sunday on a charge of Trafficking in Methamphetamine and a General Sessions Bench Warrant.

      

The Sheriff’s Office began an investigation after a Deputy from the P.A.C.E. (Pro-Active Criminal Enforcement) Team conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Manor Road and West-Oak Highway yesterday evening due to a traffic violation. 

 

The Deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Bates, and learned that Bates had a suspended driver’s license.  A search of Bates’ person produced a quantity of Fentanyl. 

 

A Deputy from the Uniform Patrol Bureau, who also arrived on the scene in a back-up role, detained the passenger, identified as Crowe, due to Crowe having the active General Session Bench Warrant.  During the investigation, Deputies discovered a quantity of Methamphetamine in Crowe’s possession. 

 

Bates and Crowe were then transported to jail.  According to the arrest warrants, Deputies seized approximately 2 grams of Fentanyl and approximately 12.4 grams of Methamphetamine.
