(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------A Seneca man and a Seneca woman remain in jail today after their arrest yesterday in an ongoing Utica Mill Hill burglary investigation.

35 year old Tommy Lee Gray and 45 year old Galen Tennille Craig were booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 8:23am and 12:00pm Tuesday.  Both Gray and Crain have been charged with one count each of First Degree Burglary.

Gray received a $25,000 surety bond during an initial appearance before a Judge while Craig’s surety bond amount was set at $10,000.  Both Gray and Craig will be required to wear an electronic monitoring device, as a condition of bond, should they be released from jail.

The Sheriff’s Office investigation began after a Deputy from the Uniform Patrol Bureau was dispatched yesterday morning to an address on Powell Street, near Seneca, in reference to a reported burglary.

When the Deputy arrived on scene, he discovered a white 2012 Nissan Ultima behind the residence.  Additional Deputies also arrived on scene to assist the initial, responding Deputy.  After knocking on a door to the residence, and announcing their presence, Craig answered the door and was taken into custody.

The Deputies made entry into the residence and discovered Gray hiding in the attic space of the home.  Gray was then placed into custody.

After presenting the evidence to a Judge, arrest warrants were obtained against both Craig and Gray, charging each of them with First Degree Burglary.  According to the arrest warrants, both Craig and Gray entered the residence during the nighttime hours, without consent of the owner, and with the intent to commit a crime.

An arrest warrant also states that Gray has two or more prior convictions for burglary.
