Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Seneca Man on Attempted Murder Charge

(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------A Seneca man remains in jail today, pending a bond hearing, after his arrest Wednesday on a charge of Attempted Murder.
22 year old Monquavious Jahmir Williams, of Tribble Street, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 11:34pm yesterday on a Temporary Custody Order until arrest warrants were obtained against Williams today.
Besides the Attempted Murder charge, Williams has also been charged with one count each of Assault and Battery by Mob- 2nd Degree and Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime
Deputies from the Uniform Patrol Bureau responded to an address on Goddard Avenue in Seneca, which is located on the Utica Mill Hill, early Wednesday morning in reference to a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, Deputies began an investigation and located an adult male who had lacerations on his upper torso and on one of his wrists. According to the arrest warrants, the victim also suffered broken bones as well.
Paramedics and other first responders arrived on scene and the patient was transported to the hospital for further treatment and evaluation.
The investigation was turned over to an Investigator assigned to the Violent Crimes Unit of the Criminal Investigations Bureau, who also responded to the scene. Based upon evidence that was obtained during the investigation, it was determined that Williams and a 16 year old white male first verbally confronted the victim.
The confrontation then turned physical between Williams and the adult male, according to the Investigator, with Williams producing a large knife/machete and cutting the victim. Both Williams and the 16 year old left the scene when a witness called 911.
A Juvenile Referral Packet for Family Court was created for the 16 year old on charges of Accessory after the Fact of a Felony and Assault by Mob – 2nd Degree. The teenager was
released to a family member and a request that the teenager be placed on ankle monitor has also been submitted.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigations.
