Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Seneca Man on Burglary and Domestic Violence Charges

(Walhalla, SC)--------------------------------A Seneca man remains in jail today, pending a bond hearing, after his arrest over the weekend on burglary and domestic violence charges.
42 year old James Christopher Brown was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 11:04pm this past Saturday, July 25th. Brown has been charged with one count each of First Degree Burglary and Domestic Violence – 1st Degree.
Deputies from the Uniform Patrol Bureau responded to an address on Corinth Drive, near Seneca, this past Saturday evening in reference to a report of a disturbance. When the Deputies arrived, they began an investigation and learned that an adult male, identified as Brown, was observed in the backyard of the property looking at an old truck.
Afterward, Brown made entry into the residence, without consent, and was reportedly armed with a pair of brass knuckles. Brown then assaulted an adult female, who was inside of the residence, by shoving and grabbing the victim. There were two teenagers at the incident location when the incident occurred, one of which is a minor.
Brown left the residence and was later located at a different address on Corinth Drive. Brown told the Deputies that he had not been living at the residence. During the course of the investigation, a Deputy observed a physical manifestation of injuries on the victim.
Based upon evidence obtained during the investigation, Brown was arrested and transported to the Oconee County Detention Center. Also consultations with a Judge, arrest warrants were obtained against Brown.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
