(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------A 37 year old Seneca man remains in jail this evening, on a $5,000 surety bond, after his arrest Saturday evening on a charge of Criminal Sexual Conduct – Third Degree.
William Christopher Johnson was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 8:47pm on Saturday, March 16th.
A Deputy from the Uniform Patrol Bureau responded to an address on Lacey Lane, near Seneca, late Saturday afternoon in regards to reports of sexual assault.
The Deputy began an investigation after making contact with the victim, an adult female, and Johnson. Johnson was discovered with a bloody nose and requested to be transported to the hospital. Paramedics responded and transported Johnson to the hospital for further evaluation and treatment. There is no evidence, at this time, that Johnson was struck on his face.
After being discharged from the hospital, Johnson was then transported to jail. Based on evidence that was gathered during the investigation, Johnson inappropriately touched the victim while the victim was physically incapacitated by being sedated and asleep, according to the arrest warrant.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
