Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Six Mile Man in Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor Investigation

(Walhalla, SC)-----------------------------------A Six Mile man remains in jail today, pending a bond hearing, after his arrest yesterday by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office on a charge of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor – Second Degree.
25 year old Christian Taylor Moon was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 6:40pm Wednesday by a Deputy assigned to the Warrants Unit.
The Sheriff’s Office began an investigation on September 2nd of this year after an employee with the Department of Social Services filed a report in regards to allegations made of inappropriate conduct towards a child by an adult male identified as Moon in August of this year.
The investigation was turned over to a Violent Crimes Investigator assigned to the Criminal Investigations Bureau. Based on evidence obtained during the investigation, and after consultations with a Judge, an arrest warrant was obtained against Moon.
According to the arrest warrant, Moon engaged in a sexual battery by placing his hand under an article of clothing that the child was wearing at the time the offense occurred in the Fair Play area on August 14th.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation. In order to preserve the integrity of the investigation, and that of the underage victim, the Sheriff’s Office will not release any information that could, either directly or indirectly, identify the minor victim.
