(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------A Tamassee man remains in jail today after his arrest Monday morning on a charge of Trafficking in Methamphetamine.

38 year old William Ed Orr, of Cheohee Valley Road, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 10:38am yesterday.  Orr was also charged with Possession of Adulterants Intended to Defeat a Drug or Alcohol Test.  Orr was also issued citations for Simple Possession of Marijuana and for a Seatbelt Violation.

Yesterday morning, while out conducting a Warrant Service with other Deputies near Westminster, a Deputy from the Uniform Patrol Bureau observed a beige Nissan Frontier pickup which was occupied by a driver and a female passenger who was sitting on top of a male passenger.  None of the occupants of the vehicle were wearing seat belts.

The Deputy saw the pickup parked at an address on Sarah Drive near Clearmont Road.  The Deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Orr, and the two passengers.

The Deputy observed a clear baggie inside of the vehicle.  A search of the vehicle by Deputies produced a quantity of Marijuana and Methamphetamine inside of the vehicle, along with a fake urine sample.

Orr was arrested and transported to the Oconee County Detention Center.  Orr was given a combined $38,000 surety bond on the drug trafficking and possession of adulterants charge.  Orr was given a $615.00 personal recognizance bond on the marijuana charge.

According to evidence obtained during the investigation, approximately 19.6 grams of Methamphetamine was seized along with approximately 8 grams of Marijuana.
