(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------A Toccoa, GA man remains in jail today after his arrest over the weekend on a charge of Kidnapping.

20 year old Jordan Lebron Hardesty, of Terri Lane, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 2:23am on Sunday, February 15th.  Hardesty was also charged with one count of Assault and Battery – 3rd Degree.

Hardesty was given a combined $26,087.50 surety bond on his two charges.

Deputies from the Uniform Patrol Bureau responded just after midnight Sunday morning to an address on Tollkeepers Lane, which is near Edinburgh Way and West Cherry Road, in reference to a report of a disturbance.  While investigating the disturbance call for service, Deputies were made aware of a separate incident in which an adult female reported being handcuffed by an adult male, who was identified as Hardesty.

A Deputy spoke with Hardesty, who stated that he was working as a security guard for a party that was taking place at an address on Tollkeepers Way.  Hardesty told the Deputy that he was not a SLED certified security guard and that he holds no formal certification.

The adult female told the Deputy that she had asked the Security Guards to remove a person from the party but they refused, which led to a verbal altercation between the female and Hardesty.  Hardesty reportedly then placed the female into handcuffs and then reportedly struck the female on her face multiple times.

Based upon evidence obtained during the investigation, Hardesty was placed under arrest and transported to the Oconee County Detention Center.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigations.
