Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Westminster Man in Child Sexual Abuse Material Investigation

(Walhalla, SC)--------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, in cooperation with the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office and the Department of Homeland Security, has arrested and charged a Westminster man with Sexual Exploitation of a Minor – 2nd Degree.


45 year old Randy Lynn Quinn, Jr., of Longcreek Highway, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 6:17pm Monday. At this time, Quinn, Jr. remains in jail on a $250,000 surety bond.


An Investigator with the Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office regarding a Sexual Exploitation of a Minor case. After being contacted by the Attorney General’s Office, an investigation began and evidence was gathered in the case.


Based upon the evidence gathered, which rose to the level of probable cause, the Investigator charged Quinn, Jr. with possessing and distributing child sexual abuse material between May and September of this year.


The images were of children, according to the Investigator. Due to the ongoing investigation, the Sheriff’s Office will not release the number of images or children involved nor how the images were obtained.


The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation and in order to preserve the integrity of the investigation, and that of any victims involved, the Sheriff’s Office will not release any information that could, in any way, identify the minors in this case.
