(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------A Westminster man remains in jail today after his arrest Saturday afternoon on charges related to a domestic violence investigation.

29 year old Casey Wayne Holt, of Lem Burton Road, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on March 21st at around 1:50pm.  Holt has been charged with one count each of Kidnapping and Domestic Violence of a High and Aggravated Nature.

Holt was denied bond on both charges during an initial appearance before a Judge.  Holt will appear before a Circuit Court Judge, at a later time, regarding his bond.

Deputies from the Uniform Patrol Bureau began an investigation this past Saturday morning after responding to an address on Crooks Road near Westminster in reference to reports of a domestic violence incident that was in progress.  Holt had already left the scene when Deputies arrived.

Deputies began an investigation and learned that Holt had assaulted an adult female.  The assault had started inside of a vehicle on West-Oak Highway before the parties arrived at the Crooks Road address.

Deputies responded back to the Crooks Road address early Saturday afternoon due to reports that Holt had arrived back at the residence.  Holt was placed under arrest and transported back to jail.

Based upon evidence obtained during the investigation, arrest warrants were obtained against Holt.  According to an arrest warrant, Holt assaulted the victim and seized her phone while inside of the vehicle.  After arriving at the Crooks Road address, Holt dragged the victim from the vehicle and assaulted her again.

Holt also unlawfully confined the victim inside of the vehicle despite her attempts to leave.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
