Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Westminster Man on Multiple Charges in Property Crime Investigation

(Walhalla, SC)-----------------------------------A Westminster man remains in jail today, on a combined $36,000 dollar surety bond, after his arrest last Thursday on multiple charges in a property crime investigation.

 

20 year old Keidene Omon Hunter was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 1:46pm on Thursday, September 10th.  If released on bond, Hunter will be required to wear an electronic monitoring device as a condition of the bond. 

 

In all, Hunter has been charged with six counts of Financial Transaction Card Fraud and one count each of First Degree Burglary and Grand Larceny. 

 

A 16 year old male was also detained by last Thursday Deputies on charges of First Degree Burglary and Grand Larceny in relation to the same investigation.  The minor was transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice Facility in Columbia. 

 

The Sheriff’s Office began an investigation on September 2nd after a Deputy assigned to the Uniform Patrol Bureau spoke with the homeowner of a residence on Woolbright Circle, which is near Townville, in reference to a burglary.  During the course of the burglary, firearms were stolen along with an Xbox that had a debit card number attached to it.

 

The investigation was assigned to an Investigator from the Criminal Investigations Bureau.  Based upon evidence obtained during the investigation, Investigators obtained a search warrant, which was signed by a Judge, for a residence on Mack Drive near Westminster.

 

At the execution of the search warrant at the residence on Mack Drive, Hunter was taken into custody and evidence pertaining to the investigation was obtained.  Hunter was transported to jail. 

 

After consultations with a Judge, arrest warrants were obtained against Hunter.  According to the arrest warrants, Hunter entered the residence on Woolbright Circle during the nighttime hours.  Hunter also is accused of stealing the guns and the X-box from the residence.  Hunter is also charged with unlawfully charging approximately $389.94 on the victim’s debit card without the victim’s permission. 

 

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
