(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------A Westminster man remains in jail today, pending a bond hearing, after his arrest late Tuesday evening on a charge of Trafficking in Methamphetamine as a result of a traffic stop.

42 year old Lloyd Scott Wensel, of West-Oak Highway, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 11:37pm yesterday.  Wensel was also charged with one count of Driving under Suspension.

Also arrested during the traffic stop Tuesday evening was 20 year old Jeda Marie Ruth Woodard, also of West-Oak Highway.  Woodard was arrested on four outstanding arrest warrants on charges of Breach of Trust with Fraudulent Intent.

Yesterday evening, a Deputy from the Uniform Patrol Bureau, on routine patrol, executed a traffic stop on a driver of a vehicle in the area of Highway 123 and Old School House Road, which is near the Richland Community.  The traffic stop was in reference to a traffic violation.

The Deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Wensel, and the passenger, identified as Woodard.  The Deputy was notified by Dispatch that Wensel’s driver’s license was suspended and that Woodard had four outstanding arrest warrants.

Both Wensel and Lloyd were placed under arrest.  Further investigation by the Deputy’s on scene produced a quantity of Methamphetamine that Wensel claimed responsibility for.

According to an arrest warrant, approximately 14.27 grams of Methamphetamine was seized by the Deputy’s.  The Sheriff’s Office investigation is continuing.

The outstanding arrest warrants obtained against Woodard charge her with stealing approximately $399.28 worth of merchandise, and $40 in cash, in November of this year from the Stop-A-Minit location on Sandifer Boulevard near Seneca.  Woodard was released from jail this morning on a personal recognizance bond.
