(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with the Isaiah 40:31 Foundation and Publix in Seneca, delivered Thanksgiving meals yesterday to citizens of Oconee County.

“For the fourth straight year, employees and Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office were able to deliver Thanksgiving meals to our citizens in Oconee County,” said Oconee County Sheriff Mike Crenshaw.  “Working with our partners and friends in the Isaiah 40:31 foundation and Publix in Seneca, approximately 120 meals were created in order to provide a traditional Thanksgiving meal to those who are in need.”

The meals consisted of, among other food items, a pre-cooked ham, canned vegetables, gravy, a box of stuffing, rolls and a pumpkin pie.  With the average number of four to five people who could be fed per meal, the meals delivered could feed anywhere from 480 to 600 people this Thanksgiving.

“As in the previous three years, the money for the meals was provided by an anonymous donor, who not only wanted to provide families with a great Thanksgiving meal, but also to help the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office in our continuing mission to forge relationships with our citizens.  The anonymous donor is a supporter of law enforcement,” said Sheriff Crenshaw.  “On behalf of the women and men at the Sheriff’s Office, we thank the Isaiah 40:31 foundation and Publix in Seneca for their continued partnership with us to help others in Oconee County.”

According to the King James Version of the Bible, Isaiah 40:31 says, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
