Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Thursday Morning Fire at Boat Storage Facility

(Walhalla, SC)---------------------------------Investigators with the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with Oconee County Rural Fire, are currently investigating a fire that damaged multiple storage buildings, and multiple boats, at a facility today near the Oconee/Pickens County line.
E-911/Communications received a call at around 9:07am this morning in reference to a report of a fire and heavy smoke at a boat storage facility on Greenbrier Road and Fall Creek Road. Multiple fire departments and the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. Deputies shut down Fall Creek Road at Jess Crenshaw Road for a time to assist and provide safety for fire crews who responded to the fire.
Investigators assigned to the Criminal Investigations Bureau responded to the scene in order to conduct an investigation. The investigation is in the early stages and there is no further information to share at this time.
