Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Responds to Report of Bomb Threat Wednesday Evening



(Walhalla, SC)--------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a bomb threat made Wednesday evening.

 

The E-911/Communications Center received a call around 9:07pm from a business on Edinburgh Way near Seneca.  The caller, an employee of the business, stated that someone had called the business and said that a bomb would be going off in about 15 minutes. 

 

The building was evacuated and Deputies from the Uniform Patrol Bureau responded as well as other public safety agencies.  An explosives detection K-9, and his handler, from the Clemson University Police Department was also requested to respond to the scene as well as the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad was requested to stand by. 

 

Deputies also shut down the entrance to the business location.  After a search, no bomb was located and responding units cleared the scene 10:15pm.

 

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
