Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Seeks the Public’s Help in Locating a Missing, Endangered 16 Year Old

(UPDATE:  The Oconee County Sheriff's Office is happy to report that James Dee Balogh has been located and he is safe.)


(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help today in locating a missing, endangered 16 year old.

 

16 year old James Dee Balogh was reported missing by a family member this morning.  James was last seen by the family member last night at around 10pm and was discovered missing this morning after the family member woke up. 

 

James is living at an address on Gin House Hill Road, which is in the southern part of Oconee County near Cleveland Pike Road and the Madison Community.

 

James does have a health condition and is considered endangered.  Deputies searched for James this morning and also notified the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office and the Toccoa Police Department due to the close proximity of where James is living near the South Carolina/Georgia line.

 

The Missing Person’s Unit from the Criminal Investigations Bureau of the Sheriff’s Office was also notified and Investigators are currently searching for James’ whereabouts. 

 

James is 5’6” tall and weighs 140 pounds.  James has blue eyes and brown hair and does have a mole on his left ear.  James may be wearing blue jeans and a gray shirt and a green heavy jacket.  James also may be wearing a white hat and black shoes with black socks. 

 

If you have any information on the whereabouts of 16 year old James Dee Balogh, you are asked to call 911 immediately.
