Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Seeks the Public’s Help in Locating Missing 82 Year Old Man

(Walhalla, SC)--------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help tonight in locating a missing 82 year old man who is from the state of Tennessee.


The E-911/Communications Center received a call this evening around 6:43pm from a family member of George E. Lawson. According to the family member, Mr. Lawson went out to run an errand around 1:30pm this afternoon and has yet to return to where he is visiting, which is located in the Seneca area.


The Sheriff’s Office has checked with area hospitals, as well as checking with local law enforcement in Tennessee where Mr. Lawson lives in order to locate him. However, those attempts have proven unsuccessful.


Mr. Lawson was driving a red 2015 Chevrolet Silverado pickup with a Tennessee tag of 7523DD9. Mr. Lawson was last seen wearing a blue button up shirt, blue cargo pants, brown shoes and a baseball style cap. Mr. Lawson is 6 feet tall and weighs 200 pounds. He has blue eyes and wears glasses.


Mr. Lawson’s information has been entered into the National Crimes Information Center database and an alert has been sent out to other area law enforcement agencies.


If anyone locates or has information concerning 82 year old George E. Lawson, you are asked to call the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office immediately at 864-638-4111.
