Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Seeks the Public’s Help in Locating Missing and Endangered Westminster Woman

(UPDATE: The Oconee County Sheriff's Office is happy to report that Sandra Gassaway has been located safe in the state of Georgia).


(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help today in locating a missing and endangered Westminster woman.

 

80 year old Sandra Gassaway was reported missing by a family member this afternoon.  The Sheriff’s Office received information that Sandra was reportedly last seen at Oconee Memorial Hospital as Sandra was at the hospital with a separate family member.  A family member told a Deputy from the Uniform Patrol Bureau that Sandra’s vehicle was not at her residence and that Sandra could not be reached by phone.    

 

Sandra is 5’ tall and weighs around 122 pounds.  The Sheriff’s Office is concerned for Sandra due to reported health problems and the excessive heat that the Upstate is experiencing. 

 

Sandra’s vehicle is a dark purple KIA sedan with a South Carolina tag number of RKR550.  According to information provided to the Sheriff’s Office, Sandra’s vehicle was last seen late this morning traveling towards Pendleton and Anderson. 

 

The Missing Person’s Unit has been notified and is currently looking for and following up on any leads regarding Sandra’s location. 

 

Sandra’s information has been entered into the National Crimes Information Center database.

 

If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of 80 year old Sandra Gassaway from Westminster, or sees a dark purple Kia sedan with a South Carolina tag of RKR550, you are asked to call 911 immediately.
