Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Seeks the Public’s Help in Locating Oconee Man for Possessing Stolen Firearm

(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help today in locating an Oconee man who has been charged with receiving a stolen firearm. 

 

19 year old Gage Eligah Jack Stewart, who has listed addresses of Scrub Street in Westminster and E. Main Street in Salem, has been charged by the Sheriff’s Office with one count of Receiving Stolen Goods. 

 

On April 27th of this year, the Sheriff’s Office took a report of a vehicle break-in and theft that occurred at an address on Sandifer Boulevard near Seneca.  Among the items reported missing in the theft was a Glock 9mm semi-automatic pistol, with a value of approximately $700.00. 

 

Information on the firearm has been entered into the National Crimes Information Center database.

 

An Investigator from the Property Crimes Unit of the Criminal Investigations Bureau was able to obtain evidence of Stewart having the stolen firearm in his possession, which led to the charge against Stewart being filed.
