Oconee Man Charged in Relation to Tuesday Evening S.W.A.T. Team Activation

(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has filed charges today against an Oconee man in reference to a domestic violence investigation and a S.W.A.T. activation yesterday.
34 year old Thaddeus Lane Carroll, who has listed addresses of Harry’s Drive in Westminster and Anderson Road in Seneca, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 10:45pm Tuesday.
Carroll has been charged with one count each of Domestic Violence of a High and Aggravated Nature, Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime and Resisting Arrest. Carroll was also served with three outstanding General Session Bench Warrants.
According to a news release issued by the Sheriff’s Office Tuesday evening, Deputies from the Uniform Patrol Bureau were dispatched yesterday at around 3:39pm to an address on Harry’s Drive, near the Coffee Road, in reference to a domestic disturbance in which an adult male made threats of harm towards himself and an adult female, who is the victim in the domestic violence investigation.
Deputies met with the victim away from the residence. The victim said that the adult male, identified as Carroll, had physically assault her. Deputies were also told that the adult male had a weapon with him inside of the residence.
Deputies obtained a search warrant for the Harrys Drive residence, as well as the arrest warrants in reference to the domestic violence investigation.
Attempts were made by the Sheriff’s Office to resolve the situation peacefully. The Sheriff’s Office S.W.A.T. team was activated and began to make efforts to resolve the situation at 7:10pm Tuesday.
At 8:12pm, the S.W.A.T. team made entry into the residence. At 8:32pm, the adult male was taken into custody and was transported to the Oconee County Detention Center.
According to the arrest warrants, Carroll is accused of choking the female victim and restricting her breathing, as well as assaulting her, which caused bruising. Carroll threatened to kill the victim and brandished a semi-automatic pistol during the commission of the domestic violence crime.
Carroll was charged with Resisting Arrest in reference to opposing a lawful arrest in reference to the three General Sessions Bench Warrants, and the two arrest warrants, in relation to the S.W.A.T. activation Tuesday.
At this time, Carroll remains in jail pending a bond hearing on the three arrest warrants.
