Burglary Charges Filed against Two Charlotte Teenagers after Break-In at Oconee Car Dealership



(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------An 18 year old Charlotte, NC man, and a 17 year old juvenile, is in jail today on charges related to a burglary that occurred this morning at an Oconee car dealership.


18 year old Jacorrion Rasean Montgomery, of Nevin Road, was booked into jail around 8:01am today, on a Temporary Custody Order, until arrest warrants were obtained by an Investigator charging Montgomery with one count each of Second Degree Burglary and Petit Larceny.


The 17 year old, who was booked into jail today at 12:29pm, has also been charged by the Investigator with one count each of Second Degree Burglary, Petit Larceny and Possession of a Stolen Vehicle. Due to his age, information that could directly or indirectly identify him cannot be released, which includes his name.


A Deputy from the Uniform Patrol Bureau was dispatched around 3:15am this morning to Lake Keowee Chrysler Dodge on Highway 123 in regards to reports of a burglary. When the Deputy arrived, Montgomery was detained on scene by a private security officer that is employed by the dealership.


The private security officer informed Deputies that additional suspects left the scene in separate vehicles after he confronted them inside of the dealership while they attempted to steal key fobs. According to information obtained during the investigation, Montgomery fell after exiting the front door of the dealership. No vehicles were reported stolen from the Oconee dealership.


Montgomery was transported to the hospital for treatment of an injury to his hand. After being treated, Montgomery was then transported to the Detention Center.


Deputies learned that the vehicles the suspects left, from the incident scene, were reported stolen to other law enforcement agencies. One of the vehicles was a silver 2023 Dodge Charger, which was reported stolen to the Darlington County (SC) Sheriff’s Office. The 2023 Charger was involved in a pursuit with the Seneca Police Department.


The pursuit ended due to a traffic accident on Ruhammah Road near Highway 123 in Pickens County. Two passengers, the 17 year old male and a 19 year old Charlotte man, were transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries. The South Carolina Highway Patrol conducted the investigation of the traffic accident.


A second stolen vehicle, a blue 2021 Dodge Charger, was recovered by the Easley Police Department in a parking lot on S. Pendleton Street in the city of Easley. No one was taken into custody at the scene in Easley. The blue Charger was reported stolen to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg (NC) Police Department.


The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation. No further names of suspects will be released until they are in the custody of the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office. Due to health privacy concerns, information regarding patient conditions will not be released by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office.
