Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Announces Third Arrest in Fall 2021 Theft of Loader and Trailer

(Walhalla, SC)--------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is announcing today a third arrest in a Grand Larceny investigation from the fall of 2021.


43 year old Larry Michael Ferguson, of N. Davis Drive in Fair Play, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 3:17am on Saturday, March 26th. Ferguson was taken into custody after a traffic stop last Friday night on South Union Road near Head Drive in the South Union Community.


Ferguson, along with 26 year old Matthew Kevin Bowen of Seneca and 26 year old James William Green of Salem and Easley, SC, were charged with the theft of a Bobcat Loader and an Interstate Trailer from an address on West-Oak Highway.


According to arrest warrants, the theft occurred on November 30th, 2021. The Bobcat Loader and the Interstate Trailer had a combined value of approximately $73,000, according to arrest warrants. The stolen property was recovered by Investigators from the Criminal Investigations Bureau in Hart County, GA on December 4th of last year and returned to the owner.


Green and Bowen were arrested at two separate locations on December 2nd of last year.


Ferguson was released from the Oconee County Detention Center last Saturday on a combined $25,000 personal recognizance bond.
