ree

(Walhalla, SC)-------------------------------------On the afternoon of Thursday, July 24th, the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office will be bringing a Sheriff’s Office tradition to Mountain Rest.

Next Thursday, the Sheriff’s Office will be hosting our next Community Cook at the Mountain Rest Community Club Walking Loop/Festival Grounds from 5pm until 8pm.  Those who are attending the meal will be able to park at 120 Verner Mill Road.

There is no cost for the meal and everyone is encouraged to attend.  The meal will consist of a hotdog or hamburger plate.

“Over the last few years, the Sheriff’s Office has been able to continue the work of forging relationships with our citizens through our Community Cooks,” says Oconee County Sheriff Mike Crenshaw.  “Our Cook Team has been able to go to locations in Oakway, Salem, Seneca, Walhalla and Westminster to fix a meal for our citizens and meet so many great people.  We are looking forward to seeing everyone in Mountain Rest on July 24th and the Sheriff’s Office invites you to come out and see us.”

The Community Meal is sponsored by the Isaiah 40:31 Foundation.  Over the past few years, anonymous donations made by the Isaiah 40:31 Foundation have allowed the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office to continue to forge relationships with our citizens through the Community Cooks and other outreach initiatives.

According to the King James Version of the Bible, Isaiah 40:31 says, “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
