Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Seneca Man on Fugitive from Justice Charge Related to Michigan Child Sex Crime Investigation

(Walhalla, SC)---------------------------------A Seneca man remains in jail today, pending extradition, after his arrest this week on a Fugitive from Justice charge in relation to a child sex crime investigation from the state of Michigan.

 

26 year old Zachary Ty Jackson, of Chris Lane, was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at around 10:26pm on Sunday, June 21st.  A hold has been placed on Jackson by Genesee County, Michigan, which is located northwest of Detroit.

 

On Sunday evening of this week, the Sheriff’s Office received information concerning a 2008 Honda Accord that was associated with felony charges from the state of Michigan.  A Deputy assigned to the Uniform Patrol Bureau observed the vehicle on Chris Lane and initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, which was being operated by Jackson. 

 

The Deputy made contact with Jackson, who stated that he was returning from the state of Michigan.  Jackson was placed under arrest by Deputies and the vehicle was towed from the scene. 

 

According to the Fugitive from Justice warrant that was obtained by the Sheriff’s Office, Jackson is wanted by the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office for Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor.
