A Deputy on routine patrol yesterday afternoon initiated a traffic stop on a Mazda vehicle on Ervin Rogers Road near N. Highway 11. The Deputy was advised that the Mazda was displaying a tag that belonged on a Toyota Tacoma.
The Deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Morgan. Morgan stated that he did not have a driver’s license and that the vehicle was not registered. The passenger in the vehicle was identified as being Marcengill.
A second Deputy arrived on scene and Morgan provided consent for a vehicle search. During the search, Deputies located a quantity of Methamphetamine, Xanax, Liquid Morphine and Oxycodone. Deputies also seized a handgun, a KelTec 9mm Semi-Automatic pistol, that Morgan possessed.
Both Morgan and Marcengill were placed under arrest and transported to jail. Approximately 14.90 grams of Methamphetamine was seized as the result of the investigation, which is continuing at this time.
