Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Walhalla Man on Charge of Disseminating Obscene Material

Aliester Shawn Ford

(Walhalla, SC)--------------------------------------The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Walhalla man yesterday on a charge of Disseminating Obscene Material to a person who he believed was a teenage girl.

27 year old Aliester Shawn Ford of W. Halfway Branch Road was booked into the Oconee County around 11:49am. Ford was also charged with one count of Criminal Solicitation of a Minor.

An investigator from the Criminal Investigations Division was contacted in reference to an individual who sent an image to an account that he believed was operated by a minor.

As the investigation continued, and evidence was gathered in the case, it was determined that Ford had sent obscene material to a person he believed to be a teenage girl. In the course of the exchange, Ford solicited the person, whom he was communicating with and whom he believed to be a minor female, to provide sexually explicit photographs of herself.

Ford was released from the Oconee County Detention Center earlier today after posting bond. Ford received a combined $5,000 surety bond.
